Our Story

The Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center (INRC) has been a beacon of hope and empowerment for neighborhoods in Indianapolis since its inception in 1994. Rooted in the advocacy of neighborhood leadership, INRC was born from a collaborative effort involving the United Way of Central Indiana and Lilly Endowment, Inc. The vision was clear: to create a training center that would build leadership capacity within neighborhoods.

Over the years, INRC has evolved into a vital resource for neighborhood organizations, providing essential training and technical assistance. The organization has moved through various locations, with its current home at The Sol Center, a hub for multiple nonprofit organizations. This space symbolizes the power of community collaboration and sustainability.

As INRC approaches its 30th anniversary in 2024, it continues to celebrate its legacy by leading community-based programming, events, and sharing impactful stories that highlight the strength of Indianapolis neighborhoods.

Impact

INRC aims to increase neighbor engagement, strengthen leadership skills, and expand community-building activities across Indianapolis.
