Our Story

Founded in 2017 by visionary artistic director Victoria Lyras, Indianapolis Ballet has reestablished a professional ballet company in Indianapolis, enhancing the city’s reputation as a cultural hub. The company made its debut in February 2018 with a sold-out performance of Lyras' The Firebird at The Toby at Newfields, captivating audiences and critics alike. Since then, Indianapolis Ballet has flourished, presenting a full season of bold programming, including an all-Balanchine program and innovative new works. With over forty ballets in its repertoire, including world premieres, the company continues to grow, adding new dancers and expanding its artistic offerings.
