Our Story

The Indiana County Public Safety Academy (ICPSA) has been a cornerstone of emergency training since the mid-1970s. Initiated by the Fire Chief’s Association of Indiana County, the Academy began with a single training weekend in September 1977. As the demand for skilled emergency responders grew, so did the Academy, leading to the establishment of a dedicated training facility. In 2006, ICPSA achieved 501(c)(3) non-profit status, furthering its mission to provide exceptional training and certification for emergency services personnel.

Impact

ICPSA has trained thousands of emergency responders, equipping them with vital skills that enhance public safety across Indiana County and beyond. As one of only three facilities in Pennsylvania offering Pro Board Certification in various rescue programs, the Academy plays a crucial role in the professional development of emergency services personnel.
