Our Story
The journey of inABLE began in 2008 with a heartfelt request for Braille books at a rural library. Inspired by a reading day at the Kenya National Library, founder Irene Mbari-Kirika recognized the dire need for Braille resources for blind and low-vision students. This led to the establishment of the first assistive technology lab at Thika Primary School for the Blind, which quickly became a beacon of hope. Over the years, inABLE has expanded its mission to ensure that individuals with disabilities have equal access to educational, technological, and employment opportunities.
