Our Story

The Imperial Valley Food Bank was founded in 1991 by a college professor and his students who began serving food from a garage. In 1992, a dedicated group of residents established a non-profit corporation to address the urgent need for food assistance. Over the years, the food bank has expanded its facilities and services to meet the growing demand, especially during economic downturns and the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our Impact

Each month, the Imperial Valley Food Bank serves approximately 25,000 individuals across Imperial County, tackling food insecurity and enhancing community health and well-being.
