Impact Retreat
EIN: 47-3511652 · College Station, TX
Our Story
Impact Retreat began as a simple idea in the fall of 1999, originating from a ministry fair aimed at helping incoming freshmen discover Christian ministries and local churches. As the vision expanded, it became clear that a more significant initiative was needed. Under the leadership of founder Christy Dressell, a week of prayer was organized, uniting diverse groups with a shared mission. By the end of that week, the need for Impact was evident, leading to the formation of a dedicated leadership team.
In its inaugural year, Impact served 150 freshmen at Pineywoods Baptist Camp, with 122 student staff members representing over 28 Texas A&M organizations and 11 local churches. Since then, Impact has experienced remarkable growth, now serving nearly 1700 students annually and adapting to challenges, including the introduction of a virtual retreat during the pandemic.
