Our Story
In Iowa, the dedication of first responders and military personnel is a source of pride and security. These brave individuals put their lives on the line to protect our communities and uphold our freedoms. However, the emotional toll of their service can lead to chronic stress, affecting their marriages and families. In response to the tragic officer shootings on November 2, 2016, Dr. Gary and Barb Rosberg launched Impact Iowa’s Heroes, an initiative aimed at supporting Iowa’s first responder and military couples.
Since 2017, a yearly 24-hour Marriage Getaway has been organized, bringing together couples from across Iowa. This event provides essential marriage coaching, community support, and resources to strengthen their relationships. Participants enjoy an overnight stay, comedic entertainment, delicious meals, and thoughtful gifts from local sponsors, all designed to honor and uplift these heroic couples.
