Our Story

Immunize Colorado was established in 1991 in response to the concerning immunization rates among children in the state. A coalition of physicians, parents, and state officials came together to create a plan to improve these rates. In 1999, the organization was incorporated as a 501c(3) nonprofit, originally known as the Colorado Children's Immunization Coalition. In 2020, the name was changed to Immunize Colorado, reflecting a renewed commitment to safeguarding the health of Coloradans across all ages from vaccine-preventable diseases.

Impact of Vaccination

Vaccines play a crucial role in public health, averting over $400 million in hospitalization costs in Colorado each year. They prevent more than 8,600 hospitalizations among children annually and save millions of lives worldwide. In the U.S., vaccines protect individuals of all ages against 17 dangerous diseases.
