Our Story
Imani House was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Mahmoud and Bisi Ideraabdullah in Liberia during a time of civil unrest. After migrating from the U.S. in 1985, they faced immense challenges, including hunger and safety threats. Their journey began with volunteering at a local hospital and establishing a makeshift orphanage in their home. Over the years, Imani House has grown to provide essential services, including healthcare and education, to thousands of low-income families, youth, and immigrants in both Liberia and Brooklyn, NY.
