Our Story

Founded in 1998 by Imam Saadiq Saafir and co-founders Naim Shah Jr. and Hanafi Shakur, the I.L.M. Foundation began as a bookstore-style coffee shop. It quickly evolved to address pressing social issues, coordinating community events and providing vital services such as feeding the homeless and distributing essential items during Ramadan. The Humanitarian Day initiative was launched in response to the community's needs post-9/11, transforming a single day into a mission of service.

Impact

Since its inception, the I.L.M. Foundation has positively impacted over 100,000 individuals, engaged more than 20,000 volunteers, and conducted over 5,000 health screenings, significantly enhancing community wellness.
