Our Story
The Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness (ISPB) was founded in 1916 by passionate advocates who recognized that a significant portion of blindness could be prevented. Initially focused on promoting the use of silver nitrate drops for newborns, ISPB has evolved to address various aspects of eye health, including establishing the Illinois Eye Bank for corneal transplants and lobbying for public health initiatives.
Impact
Since its inception, ISPB has distributed nearly $2 million in research grants and provided $50,000 annually for low vision equipment and youth replacement glasses, educating thousands about eye health each year.
Why Donate?
Your donation to ISPB supports essential programs that provide low vision equipment, fund research grants, and educate the community about eye health. Contributions ensure individuals like Tramane can access vital resources to maintain independence and enhance their quality of life.
