Our Story
The Institute for Human Services began as a grassroots initiative led by Father Claude DuTeil, focusing on providing food and support to the homeless community in Oahu. Over the years, it has transformed into Hawaii's largest human services agency, dedicated to ending and preventing homelessness.
Impact
In FY23, IHS served 344,895 meals and sheltered 1,744 individuals, while successfully preventing 791 clients from becoming homeless. This demonstrates the organization's critical role in addressing homelessness in Hawaii.
