Our Story

Founded in 1994, the If Given A Chance Scholarship Program emerged from the dedication of community members addressing youth challenges such as abuse, gang involvement, and school dropout rates. The inaugural awards dinner in 1995 honored 12 high school seniors, marking the beginning of a transformative journey for many. Over the years, the program has expanded its support to include mentoring and life skills training, guiding over 400 students toward educational success.

For over 27 years, If Given A Chance has empowered 400 alumni to achieve remarkable career milestones, including roles as probation officers, attorneys, and healthcare workers. This organization fosters responsible, community-oriented individuals who contribute positively to society.
