The Iditarod Trail Committee was founded by Joe Redington Sr. and Dorothy Page to honor Alaska's rich sled dog culture. Since the inaugural race in 1973, the Iditarod has become a hallmark of Alaskan heritage, showcasing the incredible bond between mushers and their dogs.
