Our Story
I.CARE was founded by Dr. Kylie Smith and Michael Goldberg in 2017, inspired by a shared passion for coral reef conservation. Officially established in December 2018, the organization focuses on combining scientific research with community involvement to restore coral reefs in Islamorada and the Florida Keys. The first coral transplant took place in January 2021, thanks to the support of local businesses and Mote Marine Laboratory.
Our Impact
Dedicated to restoring vital coral reef ecosystems, I.CARE engages local businesses, residents, and divers in hands-on restoration efforts, including coral transplanting and marine debris clean-ups.
