Our Story

Founded in 1999 by Joe McNalley, the Hutchins Consort began with a mission to educate and perform using the unique Hutchins Violins. Dr. Carleen Hutchins, upon witnessing one of their early performances, described the Consort as her 'dream come true.' In 2007, she entrusted the Consort with her legacy by merging her organization, The New Violin Family Association, with them. Each year, the Hutchins Consort brings quality live classical music to audiences of all ages in Southern California.

Impact

The Hutchins Consort preserves, promotes, and performs the Hutchins violins for a global audience, ensuring Dr. Carleen Hutchins’ legacy endures for future generations. Their performances and educational outreach programs introduce entire communities to the magnificent sound of the Hutchins Octet.
