About Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative
The Huron Waterloo Pathways Initiative (HWPI) is dedicated to developing non-motorized recreational pathways in Washtenaw County and its surroundings. The primary focus is the Border to Border Trail (B2B Trail), a 35-mile, ADA accessible, paved pathway that connects cities, parks, and various destinations. HWPI collaborates with the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission and local agencies to raise funds for trail construction, engage the community, and support trail maintenance and beautification efforts.
Impact of Your Support
HWPI has successfully established a public-private partnership with the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Commission, securing state and federal grants along with significant donor contributions. This collaboration accelerates the construction of the B2B Trail, linking it to Michigan’s expanding network of trails.
