Our Story
Dr. Imdadul Huq, born into a lower middle-class family in a rural village in Bangladesh, became a beacon of hope for many. As the first in his family to pursue higher education, he moved to Dhaka and earned a PhD from the University of Maryland College Park. Despite his success, Dr. Huq remained deeply connected to his roots. In 1985, he established the first primary and all-girls school in his village, laying the foundation for a legacy of education and philanthropy.
Before his passing in 1993, Dr. Huq inspired his son Saiful to continue his philanthropic work, emphasizing the importance of education for those in need. In 2007, the Huq Foundation was established in Southern California, expanding its mission to provide educational opportunities globally. With a commitment to education for all, the foundation operates under the name Education for Humanity, driven by the generosity of sponsors who support tuition, books, and school supplies for underprivileged families.
