Our Story

Since 1845, the Women’s Prison Association (WPA) has been a pioneer in advocating for women’s rights and supporting systems-involved women and their families. Founded by abolitionist Abby Hopper Gibbons, WPA was the first organization in the nation dedicated to this cause.
