Backpack Buddies of Hilton Head

Our Story

Backpack Buddies of Hilton Head, part of the Hunger Coalition of the Lowcountry, was founded in 2010. This multifaith alliance of community volunteers addresses hunger issues in the Lowcountry by providing essential food support to qualifying students at Hilton Head Island public schools.

Impact

During the school year, Backpack Buddies expects to provide over 10,000 packs of food, serving more than 300 students each week, effectively tackling weekend hunger for children in the community.
