What began as a dream in 1998 for longtime Whitley County resident Emily Deutsch and local veterinarian Dr. Don Richey has blossomed into a thriving animal shelter and adoption center since its opening in August 2004.

Each week, the shelter goes through at least 400 pounds of cat litter and a gallon of bleach daily, ensuring a clean and safe environment for the animals.
