Our Story

The Humane Society of Westchester, originally founded in 1911 as the New Rochelle Humane Society, is dedicated to fostering the human-animal bond. This organization serves as a transitional home for stray, lost, abandoned, injured, and abused animals, providing them with the care they need until they find loving permanent homes.

Impact

In 2018 alone, the Humane Society of Westchester successfully facilitated the adoption of approximately 1,100 animals. The organization has also enhanced its humane education programs, reaching more children and adults than ever before.
