Our Story
Founded in 1910 by Ethel Hardy, the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga has been a beacon of hope for homeless pets in Hamilton County. From its humble beginnings of rescuing stray animals, the organization has evolved into a vital open-door facility, welcoming thousands of pets each year. With a commitment to finding loving homes for every treatable, adoptable, and trainable animal, the Society plays a crucial role in enhancing the lives of pets and their future families.
Impact
In the past year alone, the Society has successfully adopted out 3,904 pets, transported 868 animals to safety, treated 85 heartworm-positive dogs, and fostered 1,200 pets, showcasing its unwavering dedication to animal welfare.
