Our Story

In 2010, actress Connie Nielsen witnessed the harsh realities of life in Kibera, Kenya. This experience ignited a commitment to improve the living conditions of its residents. Partnering with David Warner, the Human Needs Project was born, culminating in the opening of the Kibera Town Centre in 2014. This center provides essential services and opportunities, helping the community escape the grips of poverty.

Our Impact

The Human Needs Project has transformed lives by providing education to over 5,700 students, with around 60% securing paid employment. The Kibera Town Centre serves approximately 800 individuals daily, offering clean water, sanitation, and vocational training, significantly enhancing the quality of life in the community.
