In May 2009, a dedicated group of volunteers opened the doors of the Hugo Good Neighbors Food Shelf (HGNFS) to address the growing need for food assistance in the community. Initially serving just 10 households per month, HGNFS has evolved into a vital resource, now supporting over 125 households monthly. This independent, 501(c)(3) nonprofit operates with transparency and a commitment to dignity for all clients.
