Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (HVARS) is a dedicated 501c3 non-profit organization committed to rescuing animals in need and providing affordable veterinary services to the community. Established in 2011, HVARS began its journey with a mobile clinic, offering low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services. The overwhelming response from the community led to the opening of a stationary hospital in 2015, located in a renovated barn on the founder's property. Today, HVARS operates as a multi-vet facility, providing a wide range of services from wellness clinics to complex surgeries, ensuring that both pets and wildlife receive the care they deserve.

Impact of Our Work

Each year, Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and Sanctuary adopts out over 1,200 animals, many of whom are at high risk for euthanasia. Approximately 75% of the animals entering the facility require immediate medical attention, surgeries, or ongoing care. Additionally, the wildlife rehabilitation center cares for around 300 injured and orphaned wild animals annually, providing them with the necessary daily care, food, and medication during their recovery.
