Our Story

Since 1976, Houston Parks Board has been dedicated to enhancing the city’s park system by adding approximately 14,000 acres of new parkland and greenspace. Through a combination of private and public funding, the organization has completed over $115 million in capital improvements, ensuring that parks are accessible and enjoyable for all.

Impact

With support from community members and donors, Houston Parks Board has transformed over 250 parks and initiated the Bayou Greenways project, which aims to create 150 miles of trails and bridges connecting Houston’s major bayous. This initiative promotes a healthier, happier city.
