Founded in 1986, the Houston Masterworks Chorus is Houston’s largest independent chorus, dedicated to the presentation of great choral music and the continuation of the choral society tradition. With an all-volunteer group representing diverse cultures, HMC emphasizes choral masterworks and traditional oratorios, providing outstanding musical experiences for both singers and audiences.

Impact of HMC

HMC has engaged over 120 local musicians and formed more than twenty unique partnerships, performing at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall and St. Peter’s Basilica. The organization also offers scholarships and free or discounted tickets, removing barriers to participation in the arts.
