In early 2014, the Foundation for Louisiana’s TOGETHER Initiative brought together residents and nonprofits to tackle the affordable housing crisis in New Orleans. This collaboration led to the formation of HousingNOLA, a community-driven initiative aimed at addressing housing needs over a decade. Today, HousingNOLA represents a partnership among community leaders and various organizations dedicated to solving the affordable housing challenges in New Orleans.
Since launching the HousingNOLA 10-Year Strategy and Implementation Plan in 2015, approximately 2,200 affordable housing opportunities have been created, addressing the urgent need for 33,600 additional affordable units by 2025.
