Our Story

Housing Support, Inc. (HSI), based in Newburyport, MA, is a dedicated non-profit organization focused on providing essential shelter and comprehensive support services to low-income, homeless, disabled individuals, veterans, and those in recovery. Established in 1990, HSI has developed properties across the Merrimack Valley and New Hampshire Seacoast, including recent expansions into Kingston, NH. Under the leadership of Executive Director Paula Newcomb, HSI has transformed lives through affordable housing initiatives, leveraging competitive financing and public grants to create safe, sober living environments.

Impact

Every day, HSI provides shelter and support to 75 individuals in need, helping them transition from homelessness and unstable living situations to stable housing. Since its inception, HSI has assisted nearly 1,500 adults, offering them a chance at a better life.
