Established in 1988, Housing Options for the Mentally Ill in Evanston, known as Impact, was founded to address the urgent need for supportive housing for adults living with mental illness. Over the past 35 years, Impact has evolved from a single apartment building to a robust organization with nine buildings and 26 scattered site apartments, serving over 1,100 individuals across Chicago and its suburbs.
