Founded in 1976 by Dr. Veronica Maz, House of Ruth emerged from a deep commitment to support marginalized populations facing houselessness and abuse in Washington, D.C. Initially a shelter for women and children, the organization has evolved to offer a comprehensive range of programs designed to empower survivors to rebuild their lives and heal from trauma.
