Our Story

Founded by Sister Grace Miller in 1985, House of Mercy emerged as a compassionate response to the homelessness crisis in Rochester, NY. With the support of the Sisters of Mercy, the first shelter was established to provide refuge for those in need. Over the years, the organization has expanded its services to include food, shelter, and advocacy, ensuring that the most vulnerable populations receive the care they deserve.

Impact

Each month, House of Mercy serves over 4,000 individuals, offering essential services such as shelter, food, and social support. Every $1,000 donated translates to 88 nights of safe shelter, 462 hot meals, and 50 food bags, showcasing the profound impact of community generosity.
