Our Story

The House of Hope of the Pee Dee was founded in 1990 by Jean and Bill Fryar, who recognized the urgent need for a safe haven for the homeless in the Pee Dee area. Witnessing a local shelter turn away individuals in need, they established a mission to provide compassionate support and essential services. Over the years, the organization has expanded its offerings, including a men's home, women's and children's shelter, and the recent Addictions Recovery Center (ARC). With nearly 50 dedicated staff members, the House of Hope continues to serve the homeless community with unwavering faith and commitment.

Impact

In 2022, the House of Hope provided nearly 20,000 nights of shelter and served over 50,000 meals, showcasing its vital role in the local community.
