Our Story

Founded in April 1999, House of Dreams began when five dedicated volunteers took over a private shelter in the Parkrose area. With unwavering commitment, they transformed the shelter, caring for 97 cats while recruiting more volunteers and establishing a board of directors. In 2010, after a successful search for a new facility, House of Dreams moved to a permanent location in Northeast Portland, featuring specialized areas for Feline Leukemia Positive residents and a medical unit for cats needing extra care.
