The Hot Springs Health Program was founded in 1971 by dedicated nurses Linda Ocker Mashburn and Rae Ann Gaserowski. Their vision was to deliver primary care to the isolated mountain community of Hot Springs, North Carolina. What began as a single clinic has transformed into a network of medical centers, focusing on community-driven healthcare and serving as a vital resource for Madison County.

HSHP is the primary healthcare provider for Madison County, facilitating over 68,000 patient encounters each year. The organization has pioneered a successful model for rural healthcare that has inspired similar initiatives in other communities.
