Our Story

Founded in 2010 after a transformative visit to Rwanda, Hospice Without Borders recognizes the vital role of palliative care in fostering peace and healing in traumatized communities. The organization is dedicated to delivering home-based hospice and palliative care in Rwanda while also supporting marginalized populations in Olympia, Washington. Additionally, it extends its compassionate services to communities in Burundi and Native American populations across the USA, offering contemplative care retreats to train compassionate companions for those facing the end of life.

Impact

Since its inception, Hospice Without Borders has collaborated with the Rwandan Ministry of Health and local NGOs to enhance access to hospice and palliative care services, pain management, and bereavement support. This partnership has significantly improved the quality of life for marginalized individuals in Rwanda and Washington State.
