Our Story

Over 40 years ago, a group of dedicated individuals at Trinity Episcopal Church envisioned a compassionate approach to end-of-life care in Owensboro. This vision led to the incorporation of Hospice & Palliative Care of the Ohio Valley in 1980, with the first patient served in 1982. The organization became Medicare certified in 1992 and has since expanded its services, including the establishment of The Heartford House, the first free-standing inpatient hospice center in Western Kentucky.
