Our Story

Established in 1981, Hospice of Yuma emerged from a community meeting where healthcare providers and residents united to learn about hospice care. This collaboration led to the formation of a steering committee that dedicated two years to planning, resulting in the care of the first patient in October 1981. Initially operating on a modest budget of $10,000 and relying solely on volunteers, the organization has grown significantly, securing its own facility through community support.

Impact

Since its inception, Hospice of Yuma has provided compassionate care to the Yuma community, serving over 43 patients in its first year alone. The organization continues to support individuals in need, regardless of their financial means or insurance status.
