Our Story
Founded in Spartanburg, South Carolina, in 2000, the Hospice and Palliative Care Foundation (HPCF) is dedicated to improving the quality of life for hospice and palliative care patients. Recognizing the unmet needs of families facing incurable illnesses, founders David Niday and Todd Picou established this nonprofit to provide essential support. Over the years, HPCF has contributed more than $1.2 million to assist families in need, offering financial help for critical expenses, resources for memory making, and grief education materials.
HPCF collaborates with healthcare professionals across South Carolina, including doctors, nurses, and social workers, to identify and address the pressing needs of patients and their families. The foundation also proudly supports bereavement camps for children and families who have lost loved ones, ensuring that no one has to navigate grief alone.
