Our Story

Established in 1994, Horse Harbor Foundation serves as a lifelong sanctuary for at-risk horses, offering shelter and care for those abandoned, neglected, or facing euthanasia. Inspired by the rescue of Misty, a half-blind mare, the foundation has rescued over 80 horses, ensuring they live in a loving environment.

Horse Harbor Foundation has successfully rehabilitated many horses, allowing them to thrive well into their thirties and even forties. The foundation earned accreditation from the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries in 2010, recognizing its excellence in sanctuary operations.
