By creating enriching experiences outside of school, HGW inspires a joy of learning among 420 K-8 public and charter school students from underserved communities in Washington, DC and Maryland.

Over each five-week summer session, Horizons Greater Washington students demonstrate consistent gains in reading and math, achieving 1-3 months of progress as measured by pre-post standardized assessments. This commitment to academic excellence results in higher school attendance rates and long-term strong academic achievement.
