Founded in 1964, Horizons Atlanta is part of a national network dedicated to providing high-quality, tuition-free academic and enrichment programs for children in underserved communities. With 66 Horizons programs across 19 states, Horizons Atlanta has been making a significant impact since its establishment as an independent 501(c)(3) in 2013. The organization focuses on long-term investments in scholars, partnering with families, and fostering both academic achievement and healthy youth development.

Impacting the Future

Horizons Atlanta has a proven track record of success, supported by extensive program evaluations, including studies from Yale University. Over each six-week summer session, scholars consistently show gains in reading and math of 2-3 months. More impressively, when accounting for the summer learning loss that many underserved students face, Horizons scholars outperform their peers by 5-6 months. Nationwide, 99% of scholars in Horizons high school programs graduate on time, and 94% pursue post-secondary education.
