About Horace Mann Educational Associates
Founded in 1961 as the Wrentham Research Foundation, Horace Mann Educational Associates (HMEA) has evolved to become a leader in providing essential services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Initially focused on research, HMEA shifted its mission to support special education services following the enactment of Chapter 766. Relocating to Franklin in 1982, HMEA embraced the philosophy of making a difference in the lives of those it serves.

Today, HMEA serves over 5,000 children, adults, and families across 110 communities in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, offering vital Employment, Day Habilitation, and Residential Services.
