Our Story

Founded in 2005 by Dr. Phillip Kemp, Hope Smiles addresses unmet dental needs while providing dental students with invaluable mentorship and experience. The organization partners with the University of Tennessee and Meharry Medical College to foster leadership development in future dental professionals. Over the years, Hope Smiles has expanded its reach, supporting Dr. Ryan Shinska's mission through short-term trips and sustainable partnerships that continue to evolve.

Impact

In 2024 alone, over 7,000 patients received essential dental care in the U.S., contributing to a total of more than 110,000 patients served since inception.
