H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem
EIN: 46-3772491 · Winston-Salem, NC
Our Story
In 2013, Judge Ben Tennille and Dr. Marguerite Tennille recognized the alarming issue of food insecurity affecting children in Forsyth County. Dr. Tennille, a dedicated pediatrician, often encountered children in her practice who were unwell due to a lack of nutritious food over the weekends. This realization, coupled with a hunger study and a sermon at Centenary United Methodist Church, ignited their passion to make a change. In 2014, H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem was established, focusing on providing nutritious meals to children every Sunday.
Our Impact
Since its inception, H.O.P.E. of Winston-Salem has distributed over 514,560 meals and 1,000,931 pounds of fresh produce, significantly enhancing food security for families in the community.
