Our Story

Hope of Life International began in 1987 when Carlos Vargas, facing his own mortality, returned to his hometown of Llano Verde, Guatemala. There, he encountered individuals in desperate need, prompting a life-changing vow to dedicate his life to helping the sick and impoverished. This commitment sparked the creation of a ministry that has grown from a single acre of land to a sprawling 3,000-acre facility, serving hundreds of thousands each year.

Over the past 37 years, Hope of Life has treated more than 25,000 children for malnutrition, providing essential medical care and support to families in need. The organization’s holistic approach addresses both physical and spiritual needs, ensuring that every individual receives the care and compassion they deserve.
