Hope for Youth

Our Story

In 1991, a group of dedicated volunteers and staff from the Star of Hope recognized a critical need in the community. Many youth leaving the shelter returned to challenging environments that hindered their progress. Led by Wendy Dewlen and Kim Hansen, they founded Hope for Youth to provide ongoing support and mentorship. For over 30 years, this organization has been committed to helping Houston’s urban youth thrive through meaningful relationships and a growing faith in Jesus Christ.
