Our Story

Hope for Hooves Rescue and Adoption was founded by Mimi Kuchman, whose lifelong passion for animals led her to rescue and rehabilitate neglected, abused, and abandoned equine and livestock animals in Colorado. After years of volunteering, she established this organization to provide medical care and prepare these animals for loving homes.

Impact

Since 2017, the efforts of organizations like Hope for Hooves have significantly decreased the number of horses transported to slaughter from approximately 137,000 to 80,000 annually. The organization also educates prospective horse owners about responsible ownership.
