Our Story
Hope for Appalachia was founded to address the pressing challenges of addiction in the region. In 2020, the organization launched the Children’s Resource Center (CRC) to support children affected by the addiction crisis. During the pandemic, the CRC distributed over 70,000 meals to low-income children, ensuring that no child went hungry. Additionally, the HOPE Closet Program was established to provide essential resources to teachers for children in need. By early 2022, plans for the Harbor House were initiated, a program dedicated to supporting pregnant women battling addiction by providing safe housing for up to 12 women.
